About the Artist

A self-taught hand, made in Bristol.

I'm Chris Haines, a self-taught artist living and working in Bristol. Painting is something I came to on my own terms — learning by doing, following colour and instinct rather than any set of rules.

I work in acrylic and watercolour, two mediums I love for their immediacy and their light. Acrylic lets me build bold, confident layers; watercolour keeps everything loose, luminous and alive. Each piece is a chance to chase a particular mood or moment and let it settle on the page.

I'm always happy to consider commissions and create a piece that's entirely your own — a place that means something to you, a subject close to your heart, or simply a feeling you'd like to see in colour. If you have an idea, however formed or unformed, I'd love to hear it.
